Here’s how to start a profitable business (with no email list or following!).

Provide a service with measurable deliverables (as opposed to selling advice).

Then, get a fantastic niche and specific offer, as well as who it’s for. Invest in a mentor with a successful business model in that niche.

There’s a reason why selling a service is easier than selling advice, and here’s why.

Many people have difficulty with online businesses because they are attempting to sell advice. The problem is that we live in a world where getting advice is extremely simple, in every crevice and nook.

However, people are only interested in your advice if you are a celebrity or a micro-celebrity with a long list of publications, credentials, and public relations behind your name.

To achieve celebrity, you must first build a large email list and a social media following, both of which are expensive to build (like seriously, list building and growing a following can cost tens of thousands).

Is it possible to start a business and make a living without all of these awards?

Sure thing.

The key is to provide a service rather than sell your advice.

When people buy a service (in my case, Facebook ads), your offer becomes crystal clear, deliverables are easy to measure, and value is simple to create.

People need advertisements, and I know how to make them.

They’re not coming to me because I’m a celebrity or because I appeared on national television; they’re coming to me because I have a skill that’s in high demand.

And this is the problem with online marketing: most people invest so much time, money, and effort into business ventures that they will not see a return for years.

But this does not have to be the case.

Provide a highly sought-after service or skill. Make it a point to be very specific about who your service or skill is for, and invest in mentorship to shorten your learning curve.

Suddenly, my friend, you have a business that is in high demand, and clients will come even if you don’t have a large following or email list.
