In 2015, my boss told me I was “not normal.”
I remember my cheeks turning bright red, my heart racing, and me sprinting to my office, simply trying to hold back the tears.
Indeed, I had always been told that I was “too sensitive,” and it was something I couldn’t hide at work.
Years later, I’m only now coming to grips with this truth. To be honest, it was true.
Most people are content working in an office; I was not.
The majority of Americans prefer a consistent biweekly salary. I don’t.
Most parents don’t mind sending their children to daycare—that’s OK for them, but it doesn’t work for me.
Most people dislike taking chances involved with entrepreneurship, but I enjoy them.
In the years since I became a full-fledged entrepreneur (meaning I make), I’ve met numerous entrepreneurs who would be labeled “out of the ordinary” by most people.
Nonetheless, these entrepreneurs motivate me every day to be proud of being “not typical” and pursuing something uncommon.
I wish I had realized when I was younger that there is always a tribe of individuals that are on the same wavelength as you.
There are SO many individuals on our planet; comparable people experiencing the same difficulties as you are unavoidable. They understand!
For a select few, they were fortunate to discover this in their twenties, but for others, such as myself, it did not occur until my late thirties.
However, as the phrase goes, better late than never.
If you’re a member of the entrepreneurial club (or desperately want to be) and want others to understand your situation, why you’re unhappy at work, and your hope, want, and dream that life may “be different.”
You’re in the right place!
I understand what you’re saying and why you’re here.
