I’ve never been a natural cook, let alone a recipe developer.
People who enjoy cooking for others always impress me. While I DO enjoy cooking for others (especially my family and friends), I become nervous, fatigued, and anxious.
You could say it’s outside of my comfort zone.
So how and why did I wind up founding a raw food business, spending every weekend conducting raw food demos, talking about combining flavors and spices, and needing to develop recipes every month?
I made the mistake of believing that ANY business would suit me. I reasoned that business, in general, was superior to my mundane 9-5 job.
I was sorely mistaken. SO MISTAKEN!
Although I did love some aspects of my business (I enjoyed my clients and public speaking), I didn’t examine the firm’s day-to-day operations properly, which was a fatal mistake.
I had forgotten how closely the business’s operations were related to what I liked doing!
Over the weekends, I started to dislike my business and nearly preferred my 9-5 job (which didn’t need me to prepare events and “act”).
When starting a business, assess whether it aligns with your existing interests.
Consider the following questions: “Do I enjoy how the majority of business will be conducted?” Does the framework meet my requirements? “
These are very important questions to ask, my friends! A little foresight will go a long way here.
